Silvertize Antimicrobial Gloves

Silvertize Anti-Microbial Gloves

Keep Germs Away and Out of Your Home.

There are a number of recommendations for personal safety and hygiene during COVID-19, and avoiding touching your face or unclean surfaces is one precaution many are taking seriously. And one of the best ways to do that is by wearing protective gloves.

SilverSafe Products has taken that concept even further, manufacturing antimicrobial/antibacterial gloves from the same silver-infused fabric as our bestselling cloths, and creating a product that offers both active and passive protection.

The Benefits of Silvertize Gloves

  • Antimicrobial and antibacterial
  • Aid in the healing of skin cracks and sores
  • Moisture-wicking fibers help keep hands warm and dry
  • Create a barrier between you and germs

Silvertize gloves are made with the best antimicrobial agent, 99.9% pure silver, which is effective against bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Nitrile or Latex Gloves vs Antimicrobial Gloves

While any glove will help reduce direct contact with germs and serve as a reminder to avoid touching your face, Silvertize antibacterial gloves do much more than just create a barrier. Their very material makeup makes it easy to see how they stand apart from other gloves.

Material

Latex or nitrile gloves are created from synthetic materials that act as a surface for transporting germs. While they do prevent direct contact contamination, they create a mobile platform for spreading unwanted germs to everything else you touch.

Silvertize gloves are created using 99% pure silver in a 100% cotton weave. This silver-bonded cotton is a natural fiber; only natural fibers absorb ambient moisture, which is critical for creating the chemical reaction that produces silver ions.

Why it Matters

The material is of the utmost importance because it’s the silver ions that kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Without it, gloves just carry germs around instead of working to eliminate them. Learn more about the science and statistics about silver ions here

Longevity

Nitrile and latex gloves are a single-use item, designed to be worn once and then thrown away. It’s important gloves are removed and disposed of properly, as they will not break down naturally and hold on to any germs they come into contact with. Worse still, improper removal could negate all of the contamination protection they offer.

Silvertize Antimicrobial Gloves are meant to be worn repeatedly and often, as the silver ions in the gloves will begin to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungi as soon as they come into contact with them. Plus, the silver is irreversibly bonded to the polymer in the gloves, so it does not wash out. These Silvertize gloves have been tested for more than 100 washes without a reduction in antibacterial effects. In fact, the hotter and wetter the environment, the more effective the silver fibers become.

Why it Matters

Silver is a naturally occurring element, and there are no artificial chemicals that may cause fear of toxicity. This makes the Silvertize Antimicrobial Gloves a solution that can 1. be worn often, 2. protect the wearer from direct contamination, and 3. create an environment that continues to kill germs once they’re on the gloves. This ensures you won’t pick up bacteria and bring it with you as you touch other surfaces, mitigating the effects of cross-contamination.

Comfort

Repeated donning and removal of nitrile or latex gloves can lead to dry, chaffed skin, often exasperated when paired with continual handwashing between applications. These small cuts or skin breaks can be painful and sometimes lead to more serious issues if not given the time to heal.

Because Silvertize gloves use silver bonded polymers, the health benefits enjoyed outwardly are also enjoyed by the hands inside the glove. Cuts and sores heal quicker when an infection is reduced or eliminated by powerful silver ions, and the silver fibers minimize radiated heat loss by actively reflecting the body’s energy back to the skin. Plus they feature a seamless, non-irritating design that offers a snug, non-bunching fit.

Why it Matters

While comfort isn’t necessarily a top concern, it plays a part. With many of our essential workers needing to wear gloves (and the general public wanting to wear them), it’s reassuring to go with an option that is supporting the health of the wearer on all fronts. Antimicrobial gloves actively, as well as passively, provide protection from germs while providing comfort and peace of mind.

Fight Germs & Stay Healthy with Silvertize

Don’t just take our word for it. Silvertize has been laboratory tested, proven to kill 99.9% of germs on the cloth’s surface.

Testing performed by Microchem Laboratory, an EPA- and FDA GLP-Compliant, ISO 17025-Accredited testing laboratory.

Frequently Asked Questions about Silvertize

When should I wash the gloves?

The cloth and gloves continually produce silver ions that kill germs, so there is no need to wash them unless there is visible soil or stains. You can hand wash in the sink with mild (non-chlorine) soap, rinse, and air dry. There is no loss of germ-killing ability with over 100 washings.

Where do the germs killed on the gloves go?

Germs like bacteria, viruses, and fungi are microscopic and disintegrate when they are killed. There are no visible or harmful remains.

I’m used to the wetness and smell of hand sanitizers. Is Silvertize as effective without these properties?

The Silvertize gloves kill bacteria and viruses, including MRSA, the antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Hand sanitizers don’t kill MRSA or viruses. The wetness and smell are created by glycerin and alcohol; the glycerin is basically artificial wetness and the alcohol dries the skin and is flammable. Silver ions offer better results without the downsides of being artificial or potentially harmful.

Will wearing gloves protect me from all bacteria and viruses, like COVID-19 or the flu?

The WHO, CDC, and other organizations maintain that proper hand-washing is more effective for combating COVID-19 than gloves simply because gloves always carry the risk of cross-contamination. While antibacterial and antimicrobial gloves greatly mitigate this effect, it is always present and possible. See the WHO’s advice for the public to learn the best practices to keep yourself safe.
